Pixel widths are estimated with Arial at Google's font sizes. Google doesn't publish fixed limits and may rewrite your title or description.
How it works
How to use the serp preview
Your title and meta description are your ad in Google's results. If they're too long they get cut off with “…”; too short and you waste space that could persuade someone to click. Google truncates by pixel width, not characters, so a title full of wide capital letters gets cut earlier than one in lowercase.
This tool measures your text with Arial at Google's font sizes and compares it with commonly observed limits of about 600 px for titles and about 920 px for descriptions on desktop. It also shows a mobile preview and bolds your keyword the way Google highlights matching words.
Write the title as service + place + brand (for example “Bakery in Hisar | Shree Bakers”) and use the description to give one clear benefit and a call to action. Remember Google may still rewrite them if it thinks other text on your page matches the search better.
- Paste your title, description and URL.
- Add the keyword you want to rank for.
- Adjust until both meters are green.
- Copy the final text into your CMS or HTML.
FAQ
Questions about this tool
How long should a title tag be?
Roughly 50–60 characters, or under about 600 pixels, so it isn't cut off on desktop.
How long should a meta description be?
Roughly 120–155 characters. Google may show more or less, and sometimes writes its own.
Is the preview exactly what Google shows?
It's a close estimate. Google changes its layout and can rewrite titles and snippets.
Does the meta description affect ranking?
Not directly, but a good description can improve how many people click your result.
