How it works
How to use the xml sitemap generator
An XML sitemap lists the pages you want search engines to find. It helps new and small sites get discovered faster, especially when pages have few links pointing to them.
Paste one full URL per line (starting with https://). The generator removes duplicates and #fragments, escapes characters like & correctly, warns you if you mix domains, and adds a lastmod date if you want one. Because there's no server, it can't crawl your site for you, so include every important page you want indexed — and leave out thank-you pages, logins and duplicates.
Google ignores changefreq and priority, so they're optional here; an accurate lastmod is more useful. Upload the file as /sitemap.xml, add a Sitemap line to your robots.txt, and submit it in Google Search Console under Sitemaps.
- Paste your page URLs, one per line.
- Choose whether to include lastmod.
- Copy or download sitemap.xml.
- Upload it and submit it in Google Search Console.
FAQ
Questions about this tool
How many URLs can a sitemap have?
Up to 50,000 URLs or 50 MB uncompressed per file. Larger sites use several sitemaps and a sitemap index.
Do I need changefreq and priority?
No. Google ignores them. An accurate lastmod is more helpful.
Why can't the tool find my pages automatically?
It runs entirely in your browser without a server, and browsers can't crawl other websites. Paste your URLs instead.
Where should I upload the sitemap?
Usually at https://your-site.com/sitemap.xml, then submit that URL in Google Search Console.
